Previously, Kocher + Beck used circular tube packaging, which was driving up shipping costs. As the tubes could not be processed efficiently through carrier conveyor systems, they required special handling during transit, resulting in additional transportation charges and reduced logistics efficiency.
When Kocher + Beck approached KB Packaging with these challenges, we took the time to fully understand their operational, sustainability, and cost requirements to develop a tailored solution that met their objectives without compromising on quality or performance.
In addition to reducing shipping costs, Kocher + Beck needed a packaging solution that would provide reliable protection for both domestic and international deliveries. Sustainability was also a key consideration, with a requirement for 100% recyclable boxes and polypropylene bags containing 30% recycled content to support the company’s environmental objectives. Alongside these goals, improving handling efficiency and reducing packaging-related costs were equally important to help streamline operations and enhance overall process efficiency.
With these goals in mind, KB Packaging developed a range of bespoke solutions, including two custom-printed box sizes designed with a square and rectangular format. This eliminated the need for special handling by carriers, helping to reduce shipping costs.
For the larger box, custom inserts were incorporated to reinforce the structure and provide enhanced protection, ensuring products arrived safely whether shipped domestically or internationally. The box design also allowed multiple products to be packed within a single shipment, further improving efficiency and reducing overall transportation costs.
Recyclable
KB Packaging also supplied bespoke polypropylene bags containing 30% recycled content, helping Kocher + Beck achieve their sustainability objectives without compromising on quality or performance. In addition to protecting the products during transit, the bags were custom printed with handling and product information, providing clear instructions for users once the products were unpacked. This not only supported a more professional presentation of the products but also reduced the need for additional printed inserts, creating a more streamlined and efficient packaging solution that aligned with both operational and environmental goals.
