Description

Galvanised Armco Barrier External Corner – 500mm

The Armco Barrier External Corner allows a crash barrier run to change direction while maintaining continuous protection at outside corners — typical of car park layouts, loading bay perimeters and industrial site boundaries. Finished with hot-dip galvanising for corrosion resistance, it’s built for long-term outdoor and indoor use alongside the rest of an Armco barrier system.

Key Specifications

  • Length: 500mm
  • Type C — adds 288mm from the end post
  • Finish: Galvanised
  • Weight: 12kg

What It’s Used For

  • Forming outside corners in Armco crash barrier runs
  • Car parks, loading bays and vehicle routes that change direction
  • Warehouses and distribution centres with L-shaped or angled barrier layouts
  • Industrial sites requiring continuous barrier protection around corners

External vs Internal Corners

An external corner section is used where a barrier run turns outward — around the outside of a structure or obstacle — as opposed to an internal corner, which turns inward. Getting the right corner type keeps the barrier’s protective face consistently oriented toward vehicle traffic through the turn.

Installation

This corner section fits standard Armco barrier beams and is fixed using lap bolts (available separately). It’s suitable for new barrier installations and can be retrofitted into existing runs where a layout is being extended or altered.

Armco Barrier External Corner FAQs

What is an Armco Barrier External Corner used for?

It’s used to form an outside corner in a crash barrier run, allowing the barrier to change direction while keeping continuous protection along vehicle routes.

What does “Type C” mean?

Type C refers to this corner configuration, which adds 288mm of length from the end post — distinguishing it from other corner types with different post offsets.

What’s the difference between an external and internal corner?

An external corner turns the barrier run outward around a structure or obstacle, while an internal corner turns it inward. Choosing correctly keeps the barrier’s protective face oriented toward oncoming vehicle traffic.

Is this suitable for outdoor use?

Yes — the galvanised finish provides strong corrosion resistance, making it suitable for both outdoor and indoor barrier installations.
