Heat Shrink Polythene – Reliable Protection Through Heat Activation

Heat shrink polythene, also known as shrink wrap or shrink film, is a versatile, high-performance packaging material that shrinks tightly around an item when heat is applied. Commonly used in a wide range of industries, from manufacturing and logistics to retail and food service, heat shrink polythene offers a clean, secure, and tamper-evident way to package goods of all shapes and sizes.

Key Features of Heat Shrink Polythene:
Tough and Durable: Made from high-strength polyethylene, it provides excellent resistance to punctures, tears, and abrasions, ensuring goods stay protected in transit or storage.

Heat-Activated Shrinkage: When exposed to a heat gun or shrink tunnel, the material contracts tightly around the product, offering a snug and secure fit.

Custom-Fit Protection: Ideal for bundling items or covering irregular shapes, pallets, machinery, and even large products like doors or furniture.

Weather & Dust Protection: Creates a sealed barrier that protects contents from dust, dirt, and moisture.

Tamper-Evident Security: Once shrunk, the wrap is difficult to remove without visible damage—providing peace of mind during shipping and handling.

Common Applications:
Pallet Wrapping: Perfect for stabilising and protecting palletised goods in warehouses and shipping.

Machinery & Equipment: Offers a form-fitting, protective layer during transport or storage.

Retail & Consumer Goods: Used to package multi-item bundles or protect high-value products.

Construction Materials: Safeguards insulation, windows, or large panels from the elements.

Eco-Friendly Options:
Many modern shrink polythene products are now recyclable and available in reduced micron grades, helping to minimise plastic usage without compromising performance. Some are also made from recycled content, making them a more sustainable choice for businesses looking to reduce their environmental footprint.

How It Works:
Wrap: The product is covered with a loose layer of shrink polythene sheeting or tubing.

Seal: Edges are heat-sealed using a shrink gun or sealing bar.

Shrink: Heat is applied evenly, causing the film to contract tightly around the item.
